I Am Number Four is an Action/ Science Fiction film based on the correspondent novel by Pittacus Lore and the first in what Touchstone Pictures hopes to be a series of 6 of these films. It was directed by D.J. Caruso who also directed Disturbia, Eagle Eye and a few other.

Number 4 is a teenage alien who tries to hide from the Mogadorians which destroyed his home planet and are hunting down the few surviving co-aliens. Constantly changing identities, moving from one city to another with the help of his guardian, Henry, John is always the “new guy” in town. During a sojourn in Florida he is being discovered by their ruthless followers and they have to leave. His Guardian chooses to escape to Paradise, Ohio. There Number 4 developes ”legacies” due to his extraterrestrial nature, such as enhanced strength, speed and agility, telekinesis, and the power to generate light from his hand. He mustface new unexpected events that changed his life: his first love, the discovery of powerful new abilities, and finally meeting someone like himself, Number 6. It all culminates in a big final showdown between the Mogadorians on the one side and Number 4 and his allies on the other.

Of course Number 4 wins and the film ends with him leaving Paradise to look for the other Loriens together with Number 6 and a newfound friend.
